Betsy started gymnastics at 7 years old at Castle Rock Gymnastics. She competed C.A.R.A. levels 4 and 5 while at CR Gymnastics and All American Gymnastics. Betsy qualified for regionals and state at All American as a level 5. Betsy was training for E.A.G.L.E.S. optionals when she tore the ligaments in her ankle. After two ankle injuries Betsy decided to stop competing and continue gymnastics recreationally at All American until she was 16.

Betsy began coaching as an assistant at age 13 while still at All American Gymnastics. At 17 she began coaching at Rock Solid Gymnastics to preschool, levels 1, 2, and 3. She stayed there until leaving for college in the fall of 1999. Betsy attended Whittier College in Whittier, CA. While there she earned a BA in Business Administration and a minor in Economics.

Betsy began coaching again in September 2004 at Castle Rock School of Gymnastics teaching preschool through level 2 girls. In June 2005 Betsy moved to California, teaching at Inland Empire Gymnastics Academy. While she was only there for six months, Betsy was in charge of all preschool classes. She also taught recreational levels 1, 2 and 3, as well as junior team and pre team. Betsy is now back at CRSG teaching preschool and girls Level 1 through compulsory girls team.

In her spare time Betsy loves drag racing and races her super comp dragster as often as she can.
